June 14th Art After Dark?

Art after Dark" is a regularly occuring monthly Art Walk on the second Friday of each month beginning at 5:00PM in Fuquay-Varina. The event is a potluck of creative events and activities that vary monthly, and regulary include an Artist and Crafter's Market, kids creative activities, and a variety of other events featuring the Arts in many forms. Local businesses and organizations can get involved by hosting a creative event, featuring local artists, musicians, writers, etc, offering a creative activity for kids or adults, or featuring the Arts in some form (all mediums are welcome) in their place of business. It is up to you to decide what you would like to do in your space.

There is no cost to participate, so you can feel good about promoting the Arts while supporting and promoting your local business or organization as well.

Getting involved:

If your business or organization would like to get involved, click here to register. We will be pleased to include your event in our promotional materials, including our brochures, our email invitation, and on our website and Facebook pages for free. Please note that you will need to provide the space for your event. If you would like us to assist you with this, let us know and we will do our best to help you out.

Events can be very simple:

Creating an event does not have to be difficult. It could be as simple as showcasing a local artist's work in your space (all artistic mediums are invited, including books, music, dance, jewelry making, etc.) or offering a creative activity (for kids or adults) in your space. Whatever works for you and your business works for us. It doesn't have to be big. It's the combined effort that makes it an event.

Event Times:

You may choose your own event time. While many events take place from 5-9pm, businesses have the option of tailoring their start and end time to meet the needs of their business. Please just let us know what time your event will be when you send us your event info.

Location of Artist and Crafter's Market:

Each month from May to September as part of the Art after Dark, the Fuquay-Varina Arts Council sets up an artist and crafter's market somewhere in the downtown area. This includes a variety of local artwork and crafts, as well as live music, and creative activities. While businesses in all parts of downtown are invited to participate every month, some prefer to participate on the months that the artist market is on their side of town. For this reason, we are including the schedule for the market below.

Deadlines:

The deadline to be included in our promotional materials is the Monday of the week prior to the event. The deadline for our June 14th Art after Dark is Monday, June 3rd.
